Ibrahim Kamara Steps Down as Off-White Creative Director

Off-White is heading into a new era.

Ibrahim Kamara has stepped down as the brand’s Creative Director, ending a four-year chapter that began just months after founder Virgil Abloh’s death.

Kamara joined Off-White in 2022, taking on the enormous challenge of helping shape the house after Abloh while bringing his own visual language to the brand.

During his tenure, Kamara pushed Off-White through fashion, image-making and culture, staging three shows across New York and Paris. His first New York show in 2024 took over the waterfront basketball courts at Brooklyn Bridge Park, attracting a front row packed with names including Camila Cabello, Zayn Malik, Mary J. Blige, Victoria Monét and Issa Rae.

His departure comes after Bluestar Alliance acquired Off-White from LVMH in September 2024.

Kamara leaves on good terms, with Bluestar Alliance praising his creative contribution and saying it remains open to working with him again.

For Kamara, the chapter closes with gratitude. He described his time at Off-White as an “honour” and a “profound creative education,” while stressing that the house is bigger than any one creative vision.

And perhaps that’s the most fitting way to close his chapter: Virgil built the foundation. Kamara helped carry it forward. Now Off-White has another future to design.
