Soye Karibi-George Takes Nigeria to the Miss World Top 12

Nigeria’s Soye Karibi-George has officially made her mark on the Miss World stage.

The 26-year-old from Port Harcourt finished in the Top 12 at the 73rd Miss World finale in Nha Trang, Vietnam, closing out a pageant journey that had already delivered several major wins.

Soye earned her first major breakthrough by winning Miss World Africa Top Model, automatically securing her place in the Top 40. She then pushed through to the Top 20 before the new People’s Choice format sent her directly into the Top 12.

But her journey wasn’t just about the crown.

Through her advocacy project, “Beyond Labels,” Soye championed greater inclusion and support for people living with disabilities and mental health challenges in Nigeria.

And then came her national costume moment.

Inspired by the ocean, the elaborate look featured an enormous pearl-covered seashell headpiece, cascading pearls, coral-like details and greenery, transforming Soye into what looked like an underwater treasure.

The global crown eventually went to the Dominican Republic’s Joheirry Mola Dominguez, but Soye’s run still gave Nigeria plenty to celebrate.
