Gentle Monster Veggie Collection Turns Vegetables Into Avant-Garde Sunglasses

Gentle Monster is turning everyday produce into surreal fashion objects with its latest Veggie Collection, a playful eyewear drop that transforms vegetables into sculptural sunglasses designs.

Fronted by Karina, the campaign leans into a dreamlike, slightly absurd world where nature and artificial design collide. Set against lush, hyper-stylized garden backdrops, Karina embodies the concept of “Veggiemon,” a whimsical character universe built around oversized produce, most notably the tomato, reimagined as both art object and aesthetic symbol.

The collection itself features ten compact, folding sunglasses that push Gentle Monster’s experimental design language even further. Frames are shaped with organic curves that reference vegetables, while temple details mimic stems, vines, and natural growth patterns. Despite their playful inspiration, the silhouettes remain sharply engineered, balancing novelty with wearable structure.

Beyond the eyewear, the campaign expands into immersive pop-up installations across Seoul, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Beijing, and Bangkok. Each space is designed as an interactive “Veggiemon garden,” complete with oversized vegetable sculptures, surreal character displays, and photo experiences that let visitors step directly into the campaign’s fantasy world.
