Some swimwear is designed exclusively for holidays. DU CIEL has other plans.
The independent label, known for its dreamy visuals and effortlessly feminine aesthetic, is making a return to the swimwear space with a fresh perspective on what modern swim dressing can look like. After taking a year-long hiatus to refine its creative direction, the brand is back with a new release that feels less like resort wear and more like a fashion statement.
Founded in 2019 by Maria Sinkovskiy, DU CIEL has built a loyal following through carefully curated imagery and minimalist designs that balance sensuality with sophistication. The label first caught widespread attention with its viral Cabris swimsuit, a striking one-piece defined by its dramatically low-cut back and understated elegance.
Now, the brand is introducing a new chapter.
At the centre of its latest collection is a single silhouette: the Monaco swimsuit. Rather than presenting the piece against the expected backdrop of beaches, yachts, and tropical escapes, DU CIEL has chosen a completely different setting. Captured by photographer Marco Lombardi, the campaign unfolds across the streets of Paris, embracing the city’s romantic energy and proving that swimwear can exist far beyond the shoreline.
The decision feels intentional.

By placing the Monaco swimsuit within an urban environment, the brand challenges traditional ideas about how swimwear should be worn and styled. The imagery positions the piece as a versatile wardrobe staple, equally suited to a day by the water or layered into a city-ready summer look.
The swimsuit itself embodies DU CIEL’s signature approach to design. A dramatic plunge neckline draws the eye, while an open-back construction adds an element of understated sensuality. A sculpting strap positioned beneath the bust creates structure and support, enhancing the body’s natural shape without compromising the clean, minimal aesthetic that defines the brand.
Every detail feels considered. There are no unnecessary embellishments, no trend-driven distractions just strong lines, thoughtful construction, and a silhouette designed to move seamlessly between different settings and occasions.
In many ways, the Monaco swimsuit represents a broader shift within fashion, where traditional categories continue to blur. Swimwear is no longer reserved for beaches and resorts. Instead, pieces are being styled as part of everyday wardrobes, layered under oversized shirts, paired with denim, or worn as bodysuits in their own right.
DU CIEL understands this evolution perfectly.
With the Monaco swimsuit, the label delivers a piece that feels equally at home on a sun-soaked coastline and a Parisian street corner proving that the best swimwear is not limited by location.
The Monaco swimsuit is available now through the brand’s website.
