FaddotheGreat Breaks Guinness World Record With 50-Hour Magic Show in Lagos

Illusionist Ibitoye Kingfahd, famously known as FaddotheGreat, has officially been crowned a Guinness World Record holder after completing the longest magic show ever recorded.

Following a grueling 50-hour non-stop performance at the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, from November 27–29, 2025, the Nigerian magician shattered a 21-year-old record, performing over 1,200 unique tricks in the process. The marathon, which spanned more than two consecutive days, included card routines, mentalism and large-scale stage illusions all executed under strict Guinness regulations that prohibited repeating a trick within a four-hour window.

Prior to this feat, the title was held by Richard Smith, whose 30-hour-and-45-minute performance had remained unbeaten since 2004. With this attempt, FaddotheGreat didn’t just surpass the benchmark , he redefined it.

For Kingfahd, the record was never solely about personal accomplishment. He has long addressed the misconceptions surrounding magic in Nigeria and across Africa, noting that the craft is often misunderstood, which in turn limits its visibility and growth. His decision to pursue the Guinness World Record was therefore intentional — an effort to challenge outdated perceptions and reposition magic as a sophisticated discipline rooted in skill, logic and creativity.

The commitment demanded extensive preparation. An engineering graduate of Adeleke University, he spent over a year designing custom props while preparing physically for the endurance-based performance. After the achievement was officially confirmed, he announced the news on Instagram alongside images of him holding his certificate, describing the milestone as both a testament to faith and to the limitless potential within the nation.

“This win isn’t just for me,” he shared. “It’s for the entire nation and the limitless potential we all carry within us.”
