JISOO Stars as Four Characters in Self-Portrait Fashion Films

JISOO is used to being one of four as part of BLACKPINK. Now, she’s taking that idea into fashion — playing four completely different characters for Self-Portrait.

The new short-film series, “Portraits of a Screen Star,” sees JISOO step into a new role with every chapter, using fashion to help shape each personality.

The first is The Enigma, a curious and slightly mischievous character dressed in a grey button-knit playsuit, a red checked frayed-knit jacket and a purple faux-leather skirt from Self-Portrait’s latest collection.

But the clothes aren’t simply there to make each character look different. JISOO worked closely with founder and creative director Han Chong to build the wardrobe around the personalities she was playing.

That makes the collaboration feel more like character development than a traditional fashion campaign.

JISOO has worn Self-Portrait for years, and for this project, she gets to push that relationship further. Each outfit becomes part of the performance, helping her explore a different side of herself without completely losing the JISOO we already know.

And that is the fun part of “Portraits of a Screen Star.” How many different people can one star become before you stop recognising the person underneath?

For JISOO, the answer appears to be four, at least for now.
