Miley Cyrus Becomes Maison Margiela’s First-Ever Campaign Star

The fashion house that built its name on anonymity just tapped one of the most recognisable faces in pop culture.

Maison Margiela has flipped its own rulebook. For the first time since the house was founded in 1988, it’s fronting a campaign with a celebrity—and not just any celebrity, but Miley Cyrus. Yes, that Miley: pop rebel, ballad queen, and the woman who turned reinvention into an art form.

Known for decades of “who made this?” mystique—anonymous designers, a founder who dodged interviews, and models often hidden in masks—Margiela is now handing the mic (or should we say, the paintbrush) to one of the world’s most spotlight-ready stars.

Shot by Paolo Roversi for the Fall/Winter 2025 collection, Miley is practically unrecognisable. Stripped back, painted white, and obscured by clever lighting, she looks like she’s stepped straight out of a Renaissance painting—only with a pair of Margiela’s iconic painted Tabi boots grounding the look. “Standing naked for a fashion campaign felt major,” Miley says. “In that moment, Margiela and I became one.”

It’s a radical yet perfectly Margiela move: keeping the mystery alive while still sending shockwaves through fashion history. The maison may have finally embraced a celebrity face, but true to form, it’s done so in a way that blurs the line between art and identity.
