SZA Launches VANSZA Drop 1 With Reimagined Vans Classics

SZA is making comfort a design priority, and her latest Vans collaboration proves that getting dressed should never feel like hard work.

The singer’s VANSZA project enters its next chapter with Drop 1, a footwear and apparel collection that brings her personal style into Vans’ skate-inspired world. Drawing on natural textures, vintage outdoor influences and a do-it-yourself attitude, the range favours expressive details over overly polished design.

The footwear leads with two reworked classics, the VANSZA Knu Skool Mule and VANSZA Authentic Kickdown. Both put easy wear at the centre of the design, reflecting SZA’s preference for shoes that slip on without fuss.

That idea has a personal backstory. SZA revealed that her habit of stepping on the backs of her shoes inspired her to rethink the traditional silhouette, even removing the entire back of the Knu Skool.

“I needed everything to be slide-on-able,” she explained, describing the approach as “less effort, more fun, more accessibility, more comfort, more color.”

The collection extends beyond footwear into oversized workwear-inspired jackets, relaxed cargo pants and accessories. Fish-inspired graphics and vintage outdoor references add a playful touch, giving the pieces a lived-in feel rather than a uniform look.

Photographed by India Sleem against California’s natural landscapes, the campaign features Vans Skate Team rider Zion Wright, models Caylee Blosenski and Isabella Carr, and musician Vans. Together, the cast brings the collection’s outdoorsy mood and creative spirit into focus.

VANSZA Drop 1 launches October 22, 2026, at Vans retail locations and on Vans.com.
