The rapper has officially unveiled the Saucony Grid Jazz 9 “Awesome God,” a striking new take on the performance-inspired silhouette that embraces maximalism at every turn. Loud, luxurious, and unapologetically expressive, the sneaker combines traditional animal prints with vibrant colour in a design that’s impossible to ignore.

According to Westside Gunn, the inspiration comes from two legendary chapters in sneaker history: Jeremy Scott’s boundary-pushing adidas collaborations and atmos’ iconic Nike Air Max releases. The result is a shoe that celebrates the bold creativity that has shaped modern sneaker culture while remaining unmistakably his own.

The Grid Jazz 9 features a multi-toned faux fur upper layered with iridescent leather panels, creating a finish that gives each pair its own unique appearance. No two sneakers are exactly alike, adding to the exclusivity of the release.

Premium details continue throughout the design. The interior is lined with buttery-soft leather for a luxurious feel, while custom laces and Westside Gunn’s signature embroidered scorpion logo on the heel complete the collaboration with subtle personal touches.

The release also carries special significance beyond footwear. The sneaker launches on August 28, a date officially recognised as Westside Gunn Day in his hometown of Buffalo, New York, making the drop a celebration of both his creative journey and hometown legacy.
