L’Oréal has signed a 50-year exclusive licensing agreement to create, develop and distribute Gucci Beauty products, with the partnership set to begin in mid-2027, one year earlier than originally planned.
The move follows Gucci’s decision to end its existing beauty licence with Coty ahead of schedule. Coty will receive approximately $400 million as part of the early termination agreement, clearing the way for L’Oréal to take over the luxury house’s global fragrance and beauty business.
The agreement builds on the long-term beauty partnership between Kering and L’Oréal announced in 2025. Alongside Gucci, the deal also includes long-term beauty licences for Bottega Veneta and Balenciaga, strengthening L’Oréal’s presence in the luxury beauty market.
L’Oréal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus described Gucci Beauty as a major addition to the company’s portfolio, while Kering CEO Luca de Meo said the accelerated transition would help both companies begin the next chapter of Gucci Beauty sooner and strengthen the brand’s global appeal.
The partnership is expected to combine Gucci’s luxury heritage with L’Oréal’s expertise in beauty innovation, product development and worldwide distribution as the Italian fashion house continues its broader brand transformation.
