Crocs is stepping beyond the clog, and Kiko Kostadinov is helping lead the way.
The footwear brand has tapped the Bulgarian-born designer for a new collaboration that reworks its unconventional design language into a leather-and-mesh sneaker. Known for his experimental approach to footwear, Kostadinov brings a technical, outdoors-inspired sensibility to the VAALS Pack, first presented on the runway in Paris earlier this year.
Now revealed in official campaign imagery, the release arrives in two colourways: Kelp, a layered mix of olive, muted grey-green and emerald, and an all-black version. Both designs combine premium leather across the toe, lace panel and sides with mesh around the ankle collar. A sculpted midsole and contrasting outsole complete the distinctive profile.

Notably absent is the golden-brown version seen on the runway, leaving the retail debut with a more restrained palette. The green option offers tonal depth, while the triple-black colourway takes a quieter, more versatile approach.
The campaign draws on the collaboration’s connection to the outdoors. Photographer Jim Mangan captured the shoes around Boulder, Colorado, using the striking sandstone formations of Red Rocks and Charles Haertling’s 1969 Mushroom House as backdrops. Looks from Kostadinov’s Autumn/Winter 2026 collection further connect the footwear to his wider design world.

The VAALS Pack signals another move into unexpected territory for Crocs, a brand that has increasingly invited designers to rethink what its footwear can be. With Kostadinov’s technical detailing and unconventional silhouette, this latest partnership makes a case for the sneaker as a design object in its own right.
The Kiko Kostadinov x Crocs VAALS launches October 20 through Kostadinov’s website and selected retailers.
