Football kits just got a feminist upgrade.
Period pants are already a locker room essential for many athletes, but West Ham United Women’s team just made them a part of the official uniform. In a bold new move, the club has teamed up with Australian brand Modibodi to launch a line of period-proof underwear — and made history while they were at it.

Not only will players wear Modibodi’s tech-forward undies during Women’s Super League and domestic cup matches, but the Modibodi logo will also be featured on the team’s shorts. Yes, that’s right — it’s the first time a period-proof underwear brand has ever appeared on a football kit. Score one for progress.

The collab is all about helping players perform their best — not just once a month, but all month long. “We want a future where every girl can play with confidence, courage and pride,” said Kerry Cusack, Executive Director at Modibodi. “Every single day of the month.” We’re clapping.
To celebrate, Modibodi and West Ham have also dropped a co-branded limited-edition range, designed with input from the players themselves. It features a seam-free bikini, cheeky brief and thong in club colours — Claret, Cerulean Blue and classic black — so you can support your cycle and your team.

Rebecca Rowley, West Ham’s Head of Partnerships, added: “From the very first meeting, we knew Modibodi were serious about change. This is about giving women the freedom to play without limits.”
And they’re not the only team leading this charge. Manchester City recently announced their own partnership with Czech brand snuggs, with captain Alex Greenwood stepping in as brand ambassador. The message is loud and clear: periods shouldn’t bench you.

The Modibodi x West Ham range is now live and available to shop on Modibodi’s website. Whether you’re a footballer or just want leak-proof undies that don’t scream clinical, this collab is your sign to upgrade.
