Louis Vuitton Has Officially Entered the Beauty Game

Another day, another luxury giant making our makeup bags a little more glamorous. Louis Vuitton has officially launched its first-ever colour cosmetics line — and of course, it’s not just makeup, it’s a moment.

The debut collection, La Beauté Louis Vuitton, features 55 lipsticks (matte and satin, naturally), 10 balms, 8 eyeshadow palettes, blotting papers, an £860 brush set (yes, really), and even miniature vanity trunks in LV’s signature monogram or limited-edition shades of ‘Rouge Louis’ red and ‘Tender Bliss’ pink. Basically: luxury you can swipe, dab, and carry on your keychain.

Fronting the collection? None other than Dame Pat McGrath, who joined LV earlier this year as creative director of beauty. “It’s all about the power of play,” she says — and the lineup proves it. Think lipsticks that double as blush, eyeshadows designed to blend like satin, and a soft floral scent woven through everything courtesy of LV’s in-house perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud.

The star shades are rooted in Louis Vuitton’s history:

  • 854 – a blue-red inspired by the brand’s founding year (1854).
  • 896 – a red-brown nodding to the creation of the monogram (1896).
  • Spell On You – a rose pink with romance written all over it.

In true Vuitton style, it’s not just about colour but craft. Each lipstick and palette comes with engraved monogram detailing and refillable components that snap satisfyingly into place. Personalisation is on the menu too: initials on lipsticks, engraving on palettes, even miniature vanity trunks you can clip to a bag for the ultimate heirloom flex.

Of course, exclusivity is part of the deal. You’ll only find the line in 92 LV boutiques worldwide, at Harrods in the UK, and at two chic pop-ups in New York and Seoul.

The question now? Can Louis Vuitton turn this into more than a headline moment in beauty — and actually get us to keep coming back for refills? With price tags like £120 for lipstick and £190 for an eyeshadow palette, it’s a serious luxury play. But for the LV devotee (or anyone looking for a soft entry into the brand’s universe), these glossy tubes and trunks might be irresistible.

Luxury has officially landed in your makeup bag — and yes, it’s monogrammed.
