Inside David Koma’s Mythical Jungle for Spring/Summer 2026

David Koma has officially transported us into a world where nature is no longer soft or predictable, but sculpted, sharpened, and reimagined as high-fashion armor. For Spring/Summer 2026, the designer unveils a “mythical jungle” that feels less like a garden escape and more like a charged ecosystem of power, precision, and transformation.

This is not nature as we know it. It is nature reconstructed through Koma’s lens, architectural, intensified, and slightly dangerous.

Drawing inspiration from exotic flora across continents, the collection references Mexican cactus dahlias, Brazilian bromeliads, and South African birds-of-paradise, translating them into sculptural fashion forms. The result is a wardrobe that feels alive, but controlled where botanical beauty meets engineered structure.

Silhouettes move between extremes. Gowns are cut with razor-sharp precision, revealing flashes of skin through deliberate slashes and directional construction. Elsewhere, delicate mesh is gathered and pulled with bungee-like detailing, echoing the tension of classical garden statuary frozen in motion. Trousers shift the narrative entirely, arriving in oversized, fluid silhouettes rendered in glossy satin that drapes with effortless ease.

The embellishment story is where the fantasy fully takes shape. Birds-of-paradise motifs appear as crawling forms across the body, rendered in black patent leather and crystal detailing. Even unexpected elements like corn husks are transformed into ornamental jewellery, blurring the line between organic material and mythical adornment.

Color plays its own dramatic role in the narrative. Neon peach, acidic kiwi green, electric blue, and deep jet black collide in a palette that feels both tropical and electric like a jungle lit by neon light rather than sunlight.

The overall effect is a collection that sits between beauty and tension, softness and structure, fragility and force. It is nature reimagined not as something to observe, but something to wear as armour.
