A soft-focus lip launch blending hydration with a blurred matte finish
Ariana Grande’s r.e.m. beauty expands its lip category with the launch of the Blur Butter Lip Balm, a hybrid formula designed to deliver a soft matte finish with a hydrating balm texture. The release continues the brand’s focus on sensorial makeup that combines skincare benefits with wearable color payoff, while reintroducing a modern take on the matte lip trend.
The Blur Butter Lip Balm is described as a balm-to-blur formula that glides on smoothly before settling into a lightweight, soft-focus matte effect. Built for buildable coverage, it delivers buttery pigment without the dryness traditionally associated with matte lip products, aligning with Grande’s preference for comfortable, long-wear lip color.

In a statement, Grande highlights the formula’s evolution from traditional matte textures, noting its “addictive” sensorial feel and hydrating finish. The product is powered by plant-based blur powders and mineral pigments, alongside skincare-driven ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, Monoi de Tahiti, hibiscus, and marine superfood wakame, all aimed at smoothing and softening lip texture.
The collection launches in six versatile shades, ranging from bold red tones to deep chocolate browns, designed to support the blurred lip aesthetic that defines the product concept. The Blur Butter Lip Balm retails for $24 USD and is available via r.e.m. beauty’s official website.
