There’s something almost poetic about watching a fashion rule leave home, hop on a plane, and return with a sunnier, wilder personality. The “pop of red” trick — the one New Yorkers use to punctuate their black-white-beige winter survival uniforms — has officially gone tropical. And Dua Lipa, unsurprisingly, is the one leading the style migration.

Somewhere between performing and collecting passport stamps on the South American leg of her Radical Optimism tour, Dua stepped out in São Paulo wearing a look that refused to whisper. A micro-mini dress in a remix of leopard print, all scooped neckline and delicate spaghetti straps, the sides framed with layered sheer panels that fluttered every time she moved. The asymmetric hem only added to the sense that this outfit didn’t walk into the room — it danced in.

And because tropical energy doesn’t believe in minimalism, she leaned straight into the “pop of red” philosophy, choosing cherry-red lace-up sandals that spiralled up her calves. Gold statement earrings, a sleek ponytail, and that signature Dua glow sealed the deal. Bold where it needed to be, effortless where it mattered.
A day later, she was spotted off-duty, reinterpreting the aesthetic again. This time: a black lingerie slip edged with lace, grounded with knee-high black boots and topped with a track jacket in green, black, and yellow, a soft nod to Brazil’s national colors. Even her casual looks play by their own rules.

Animal prints and high-voltage hues have always been her version of neutrals anyway. She’s done date nights in snakeskin Jil Sander coats, eased through seasonal transitions with a cheetah print Maison Margiela bag, even pulled off cow print and leopard print in one winter look without breaking a sweat. So really, a little red accent is practically her warm-up exercise.
