MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon Are Making Sneakers Look Less Like Sneakers

What happens when a traditional leather derby meets a trail-ready sole? Or when a winter boot borrows the shape of a puffer jacket? For MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon, those questions are the starting point of their Fall 2026 collaboration.

The two brands are returning with a collection that pushes their partnership beyond familiar performance sneakers. Arriving in two releases, the lineup plays with the boundaries between formal footwear, outdoor equipment and experimental fashion.

The first release, scheduled for October 22, brings back the XT-MM6 in three new colour combinations. Built around Salomon’s XT silhouette, the sneaker retains the brand’s ACS stability system and Energy Cell cushioning. The new shades range from creamy yellow and silver to seafoam violet and darker greens, with a retail price of $495.

But the real conversation starter is the MM6 CROSSDERBY. Its black leather upper could belong to a conventional dress shoe, except that Salomon’s rugged outsole and drawstring fastening have other ideas. The result is a shoe that refuses to choose between the office and the outdoors.

The second release, arriving November 17, takes the experimentation further. The MM6 XT-BOOT features a padded upper that can be worn upright or loosened around the calf, transforming its silhouette from a substantial winter boot into something closer to a slouchy sock shoe. It arrives in Vanilla Ice, black and Dusty Yellow.

The ACS PRO 3 also returns with updated colourways, including black, Green Gables and combinations of Cosmic Sky, Heron and Violet Tulip. Accessories aren’t forgotten either, with the XT-15 Backpack returning alongside a contrasting white rain cover.

The first drop launches October 22, followed by the second on November 17, through the MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon online stores.
