Some lists arrive with little fanfare. Others land like a cultural temperature check. YouTube’s newly released Top 10 Nigerian Creators of 2025 sits firmly in the second category, offering a clear snapshot of what the country has been watching, sharing and obsessing over all year. And this time, the dominance of Nollywood isn’t just visible; it’s unmistakable.
At the very top is Omoni Oboli TV, the channel run by actress, filmmaker and newly minted digital powerhouse, Omoni Oboli. Her steady flow of romance-led dramas turned her into one of the most-watched and most-searched creators in the country. Viewers didn’t just tune in; they stayed loyal.

Right behind her is Itelediconstudio, the brainchild of Itele d Icon, whose signature cinematic style and blockbuster-length storytelling have become a fan favourite. His channel embodies what many Nigerians have felt throughout 2025: Nollywood isn’t simply thriving online, it’s setting the pace.
Uchenna Mbunabo TV rounds out the leading trio. With a catalogue built on sprawling family dramas and emotional arcs, Mbunabo’s channel reflects the shift toward independent production houses becoming digital power centres of their own.
The announcement was shared in a statement by Addy Awofisayo, YouTube’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa. It arrived alongside the platform’s new “Recap” feature, a personalised year-in-review that quietly reminds users just how much of their day-to-day happens on YouTube, from learning something new to indulging in a comedy binge.
This year’s list reveals a wider truth. Nigerian online storytelling has stretched beyond skits and single videos into something richer and more layered. Independent filmmakers, long-form creators and digital studios are no longer outliers. They are the culture.
