Sha’Carri Richardson did not just walk into ATHLOS London. She arrived looking ready for battle.
The Olympic medalist debuted a custom Nike Atelier look built around the idea of armour, mixing athletic performance with couture-level craftsmanship and a healthy dose of Richardson’s signature drama.
The centrepiece was an oversized reflective coat covered in hand-set Swarovski crystals. Designed to appear muted in daylight before catching and throwing back flashes at night, the material gave the coat an almost fog-like quality that suddenly came alive under the cameras.
Underneath, Nike layered a reworked FlyWeb bra with a fitted rib-knit corset and matching micro shorts. Engineered pleats added movement to the oversized jacket, while every crystal and seam was deliberately placed to give the look texture and distortion.
Then came the footwear. Nike transformed its custom Vomero Premium into a thigh-high sock, extending the sneaker silhouette up the leg and covering the foot and ankle in more crystals.
A crackled-leather mini duffel from Japan completed the look, finished with oversized custom charms.
Richardson said the outfit made her feel “like I was a knight provided with my armor.” The idea fits the look perfectly. Nike Atelier built the design around the contrast between her disciplined life as an elite sprinter and the expressive energy she brings to fashion.
She debuted the look at ATHLOS London, where she won the 100m in a meet-record 10.80 seconds.
