Simone Rocha made getting dressed feel like a ceremony.

For Spring/Summer 2027, the designer returned to London’s Old Bailey with a womenswear collection that found beauty in the tension between the ordinary and the extraordinary.

Inspired in part by Caravaggio’s The Taking of Christ and its unlikely rediscovery in Dublin, Rocha played with that same sense of hidden beauty throughout the collection.

Everyday pieces were given the Rocha treatment. A scarlet Harrington jacket came with rose-covered details, while practical anoraks were transformed with pin-embellished Velcro panels. Workwear-inspired jackets ballooned into dramatic shapes covered in petals and beading.

Then came the romance. Velvet, satin, taffeta and embroidered tulle appeared in rich shades of red, blue, pink and black, alongside organza feathers, shells and sculptural hoods.

Taffeta cocoon headpieces wrapped around models like modern-day mantels, while full-skirted dresses shimmered with superfine metallic threads.

The collection never needed to shout. Rocha made the familiar feel precious simply by changing how it sat on the body.
