Over 60 years later, one of Nike’s earliest designs returns in three fresh colorways.
Nike is dipping back into its archives to reintroduce one of its most historic silhouettes, the Moon Shoe. Originally created in 1971 as a precursor to track staples like the Nike Oregon Waffle, the sneaker never saw a full public release. Now, decades later, it’s finally getting the global drop it never had.

After teasing its return through a softer, reworked collaboration with Jacquemus, Nike is bringing the Moon Shoe back in its original form. The 2026 release stays true to its roots, preserving the signature waffle outsole and streamlined silhouette that defined its early design language.
Arriving in three colorways, mustard yellow, navy blue, and a classic black-and-white option, the sneaker blends vintage appeal with modern versatility. Its timeless construction feels right at home within today’s sneaker landscape, where archival styles continue to dominate.
More than just a retro release, the Moon Shoe represents a key moment in Nike’s design history. Its near-identical reconstruction highlights the brand’s commitment to honoring its legacy while reintroducing it to a new generation of wearers.

The Moon Shoe will be available via Nike SNKRS starting April 3, with a wider release on Nike’s website from May 7.
