Performance footwear meets balletcore in the latest collaboration between Empty Behavior and ASICS.
The experimental footwear label has teamed up with the Japanese sportswear giant to deliver a fresh interpretation of the Hypersync silhouette, transforming the minimalist sneaker into something that feels equally at home in the worlds of fashion and sport. The result is a design that balances industrial functionality with soft, feminine detailing.
At the centre of the collaboration is a clever reworking of one of ASICS’ most recognisable design signatures: its iconic tiger stripes. Rather than relying on the traditional structured overlays, Empty Behavior replaces them with delicate ruffled fabric detailing that flows across the upper. The unexpected treatment introduces movement, texture, and a sense of romance, creating a striking contrast against the sneaker’s technical foundation.
The collaboration arrives in two distinct colourways. The first, Black Breeze, embraces a darker aesthetic with an all-black base accented by subtle touches of soft pink. The combination delivers a moody, fashion-forward look that feels both edgy and playful. Meanwhile, the White/Pure Silver version offers a cleaner alternative, pairing crisp white tones with metallic silver accents for a versatile finish that can easily slot into everyday wardrobes.

Both styles are constructed from a lightweight combination of synthetic leather and breathable open-weave mesh, maintaining the comfort and functionality expected from a performance-inspired silhouette. Staying true to the Hypersync’s original design language, the sneakers also feature a heavily padded tongue, dual branding details at the toe box, and an ultra-thin sole unit that enhances the model’s streamlined, barefoot-inspired profile.
The collaboration reflects a growing trend in footwear design, where traditionally athletic silhouettes are being reimagined through a more fashion-focused lens. By blending delicate embellishments with technical construction, Empty Behavior and ASICS have created a sneaker that feels contemporary, experimental, and undeniably distinctive.
The Empty Behavior x ASICS Hypersync collection is expected to launch later this year, with an official release date yet to be announced.
