Your lip balm just got a wellness upgrade.

Niche beauty brand Herbar is stepping into makeup with its first lip product, the Lip Butter, a skincare-meets-colour formula designed to keep lips soft, hydrated and glossy without the sticky finish.

The formula combines ceramides, lactic acid and a firming peptide complex to support the skin barrier while delivering a soft, radiant finish.

But the real personality comes through in the shades. Black Sesame is a sheer toasted balm inspired by black sesame mochi, Mooncake brings a warm buttery brown, while Jujube offers a soft fruity red inspired by jujube tea.

The flavours are a nod to Traditional Chinese Medicine and co-founder Rui Liu’s Chinese upbringing, reflecting Herbar’s wider approach of bringing traditional wellness ideas into modern beauty.

The Lip Butter launches on Herbar’s website in October.
