Jonathan Anderson is taking UNIQLO back to school this autumn, but the dress code is anything but ordinary.
For Fall/Winter 2026, UNIQLO and JW Anderson draw inspiration from academic culture and the world of theatre, bringing together preppy wardrobe staples, vintage references and practical cold-weather pieces.
The collection features 13 womenswear styles, 12 menswear styles and four accessories, with relaxed silhouettes, cropped outerwear and playful knitwear setting the mood.
One of the key pieces is the genderless Short Blouson, a cropped zip-up jacket with a relaxed fit, gathered cuffs and a fitted hem. Shown in deep burgundy, it gives a familiar everyday jacket a more contemporary shape.

The women’s Padded Short Jacket takes a different approach to volume. Cut in a boxy charcoal silhouette with generous padding and oversized flap pockets, it offers warmth without losing its structured appearance.
Elsewhere, layering becomes a major part of the collection. The men’s Windproof Fleece Jacket and women’s Fleece Short Blouson offer practical options for colder days, while V-neck sweaters and crew-neck vests bring a more traditional collegiate feel.
The women’s asymmetric Pleated Skirt adds an unexpected detail, breaking away from conventional school-uniform styling with its uneven cut and fluid movement.
Accessories, including beanies, socks and bags, complete the wardrobe.

According to Anderson, the collection explores the meeting point between theatrical creativity and academic culture. That contrast comes through in pieces that feel familiar but have been adjusted through proportion, texture and styling.
And perhaps that is the appeal of this collaboration. Nothing feels too precious to wear. The jackets are made for layering, the knitwear works with everyday wardrobes, and the more experimental pieces still have a practical purpose.
The UNIQLO x JW Anderson Fall/Winter 2026 collection launches October 15 through UNIQLO’s official retail channels.
