Vivienne Westwood Just Turned Rococo Art Into a Full Fashion Fantasy
Vivienne Westwood

Vivienne Westwood has never been shy about turning history into fashion, but this time the house is going full Renaissance fantasy.

The brand has unveiled a limited-edition capsule titled “The Spring Cherubs,” and it’s exactly as dreamy and dramatic, as it sounds.

This latest drop takes one of Europe’s most beloved 18th-century artworks, “Spring” (Le Printemps) by François Boucher from his Four Seasons series, and reimagines it across some of Vivienne Westwood’s most recognizable silhouettes. Think playful cherubs floating through soft clouds, pastel florals blooming across tailoring, and that signature sense of theatrical romance the house is known for.

It’s a full Rococo daydream translated into clothing.

Across the collection, the artwork appears in both bold all-over prints and softer, repeated motifs, layered onto a mix of structured tailoring and relaxed jersey pieces. The contrast is very Westwood: sharp construction meets whimsical storytelling.

Standout pieces include the Violin shirt and the Two Button Krall shirt, both crafted in organic cotton and designed to balance classic tailoring with painterly softness. Meanwhile, longtime Westwood fans will immediately recognize the return of the iconic Puppy Corset, now reimagined in the ethereal cherub print, turning an already statement piece into something almost gallery-like.

The fantasy continues into accessories, with the archival Roman Three Strap Sandal and the spacious Worker Runner Holdall both reworked in the same pastel Rococo artwork, tying the entire capsule together in one cohesive visual story.

What makes the collection feel so compelling is how it bridges worlds, Savile Row precision, French salon decadence, and Baroque-era painting, all filtered through Vivienne Westwood’s rebellious design language.

It’s ornate, romantic, slightly chaotic… and completely intentional.

For anyone who loves fashion that feels like wearable art, “The Spring Cherubs” delivers exactly that.

The first chapter of the capsule is now available on the Vivienne Westwood website.
